Frequently Asked Questions

Which systems and devices are compatible with the Magnetic Portable SSD?

Systems: iOS 17, macOS, Android 9, Windows 7 and above, HarmonyOS, Linux, and other systems.

Can files or videos stored on the Magnetic SSD be edited directly on the Portable SSD?

Yes, as long as the Magnetic Portable SSD is connected to a main device that supports editing, you can directly edit or trim files or videos without needing to transfer them to a computer first.

Why isn’t the file transfer speed reaching 20Gbps when the Magnetic Portable SSD is connected to a computer?

The main device's interface must support USB 3.2 Gen2x2 protocol to achieve 20Gbps transfer speed. If the interface does not support USB 3.2 Gen2x2, the transfer speed will be lower. The actual transfer speed will be limited by the slowest speed among the main device, the data cable, and the Portable SSD.

How can the Magnetic Portable SSD be used with a computer that doesn’t have a Type-C port?

You can connect the Magnetic Portable SSD to your computer using a Type-A or Type-C data cable. You can purchase a compatible adapter or data cable that supports data transfer. To achieve the highest speeds, ensure that the main device, data cable, and adapter all support speeds of 20Gbps or above.

How can the Magnetic Portable SSD be fixed in place on a device that doesn’t have magnetic functionality?

The Magnetic Portable SSD package includes a magnetic patch. You can attach this patch to your device to allow the Portable SSD to magnetically adhere. For detailed instructions, please refer to the user manual or contact customer service.

How do you transfer files between the Magnetic Portable SSD and a mobile device (e.g., smartphone)?

Connect the data cable to both devices. (For example, with an iPhone 15) Go to the [Files] app -> [Locations], where you’ll see "DIGIERA Portable SSD." You can then select files to copy or move between the Magnetic Portable SSD and the smartphone. The directory location may vary depending on the phone model, so check with your phone manufacturer if unsure.

Super compact 512GB external SSD hard drive! Very, very easy to use just plug in and go! The drive lights up when in use. I use mine with my MacBook Pro to keep backups of my photos, music, and other important documents. This drive will come in super handy when having to move large files around. The data transfers through the USB-C cable are super fast, too! Overall, excellent product and would highly recommend.

Works great. Set it up, plugged it into my Macbook Pro and it worked great. I'm on a Macbook Pro M1 2020 edition and I'm getting about 1,000 MBPS when I plug it straight into my native USB C port. (Mine's a 3.1 USB C port so that explains why I don't get the full 2k.) If I go through a USB3.0 adapter (like on my dock) it drops to 40MBPS but that's not this drive's fault. Just make sure you plug it straint into your native USBC ports.

This 512GB portable SSD has a lot going for it. It sticks securely to my Android phone with its magnetic case, and the enclosure feels durable and well-made. It connects easily to any device, whether it's my Android or PC. But, when I tested the speed, I got around 1000 MB/s read/write on a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port'only half of the advertised speed, which is a bit disappointing. It's on the pricier side for 512GB, and while it works well overall, there are other options out there with better performance at a lower price.

Excellent quality MagSafe 512GB SSD. The case feels solid.

It comes with a magnetic sticker in case you're phone or case does not have MagSafe.

The USB C cable is of very good quality.

The magnet is very strong and attaches confidently to my iPhone 16 pro max. The default file system is ExFat and was immediately recognized by my iPhone 16 Pro Max.

I connected it to my MacBook Pro and reformatted it to APFS case sensitive encrypted format and tested the ssd with Blackmagic disk test. It gave a read write of approximately 500Mbps, which is less than I expected at this price point.

But it is more than enough for ProRes video recording.

I would definitely recommend this SSD

The 1TB magnetic portable SSD is a sleek and versatile external drive. While it seems to contain an M.2 2230 SSD, it's important to note that you can find 2TB options in this price range. The drive's polished circular design is MagSafe-compatible, making it a great fit for iPhone 15 users with its USB-C connection. However, if you're using an iPhone 14 or an older model, you'll need an adapter for the Lightning port.

I tested the SSD with my MacBook Pro, and while the performance was solid, it didn't quite reach the advertised speeds. I recorded read speeds of 965MB/s and write speeds of 898MB/s, which are still impressive for an external drive. After extended use, the device does get a little warm. Overall, it's a compact and durable solution for content creators, professionals, and gamers, offering good performance in a stylish form factor.
